Elementary School Announcements

Announcements for Monday, February 27th

Today is Day 6

Happy “Read Across America Week” - the week where we honor Dr. Seuss and his contribution to literacy. Please remember that today we are reading in the hall from 10:30-10:50 with our favorite book. Tomorrow you may wear a hat in honor of Dr. Seuss’s character Bartholomew Cubbins and his 500 hats!

It’s now time for our Dr. Seuss Trivia. Kids that get the correct answer get a free punch on their punch cards so get ready. You’ll need to record your answer somehow, either on a piece of paper, write on your desktop or by show of hands, but you need to be honest!  … What was Dr. Seuss’s real name? Was it ..

  1. James P. Bainbridge

  2. Thomas LeSieg

  3. Theodor Geisel

  4. Robert Seuss

The answer is “C” - Dr. Seuss’s real name is Theodor Geisel. Seuss was his middle name, after his mother’s family name.

This month’s habit is “Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood.” Next month’s habit is coming soon - we hope you’re ready to use what you learned about listening to help you with the next habit!
